-
What is uptime monitoring?
-
Uptime monitoring is the automated process of testing your websites, APIs, and servers at regular intervals to verify they are reachable, fast, and responding correctly. When a check fails across multiple regions, uptime monitoring triggers instant alerts so you can fix outages before customers complain.
-
What can I monitor with Phare?
-
If it talks on the internet, Phare can monitor it. You can track availability for HTTP and HTTPS websites, REST and GraphQL APIs, raw TCP ports, and servers with ICMP ping monitoring. Phare also supports custom request headers, user agents, request bodies, status code and response body assertions, and SSL/TLS certificates.
-
How often can Phare check my website?
-
Phare checks your critical endpoints as often as every 30 seconds from global edge regions, ensuring near-instant downtime detection and minimal disruption.
-
Can Phare monitor APIs?
-
Yes. Phare provides dedicated API monitoring with support for HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and more), custom authentication headers, custom request bodies, response body assertions, and response time thresholds.
-
Can I monitor SSL certificates?
-
Yes. SSL/TLS certificates are automatically discovered and monitored on every check. You will receive proactive alerts before certificates expire or encounter configuration errors.
-
Can I monitor from multiple regions?
-
Yes. Checks are performed from up to 12 global monitoring regions across Europe, America, Asia, and Oceania, giving you a worldwide view of availability and eliminating single-location false alarms.
-
Can I monitor internal or private infrastructure?
-
Phare uses shared IP addresses rather than dedicated static IPs, but you can securely monitor private or protected infrastructure. Phare implements the Web Bot Auth standard (cryptographic HTTP message signatures) and allows you to append secret verification tokens to your monitor’s User-Agent or custom request headers, allowing your reverse proxies, WAFs, or firewalls to safely authenticate monitoring traffic.
Phare-tastic feedback
They all came for a free uptime monitoring tool, they stayed for the superior platform, and the vibe.
Phare offers a nice status page that is incredibly easy to use. It’s free to play, no credit card required. Incident management has internal and external communication.
We’ve been using Phare for months now, and the dev is actively working on improving the system! He responds to messages and even reached out to us when we didn’t know there was a problem. We’ve used lots of systems and by far this takes the cake and works perfect for what we need.
It has all the important features and its UI is just lovely!
Phare can be described simply in two words: Absolutely amazing.
It’s a great product, I was able to participate in the beta and it’s really a great project, I’m very happy that we have a solution like that in Europe. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
I think Phare has a very clean and to the point interface and feature list. I use for my personal projects right now but I am considering it for work related things as well.
Checked many, many competitors, and Phare is fairly the best option to go with!
Nice UI, clear UX, custom domain, custom status page. I sign up and 5 minutes later I get : - 2FA secure auth - A nice status page on my own domain - Telegram & email alert working The product is simple and powerful, I love it. Bravo !
Amazing uptime management! Works automatically and notifies me via email.
I simply love it. The UI is very clean and clear. You only pay what you use. That is for every request that is made. You can even adjust the frequency for each monitor individually. However, for me the best feature is the well-documented API that makes it possible to embed phare.io into your existing infrastructure in no-time.
Super slick. Ridiculously simple to setup. Took me a minute to figure out where the badge was but otherwise this was setup in a blink of an eye.
