Frequently asked questions
You could not find the answer to your question? Ask support.
-
What is an MCP server?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets AI assistants use the tools of other applications. The Phare MCP server gives your assistant tools to read and manage your monitors, incidents, maintenance windows and status pages, so you can ask instead of clicking around the dashboard.
-
Which AI assistants work with Phare?
Any application supporting remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with OAuth, like Mistral Vibe, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Zed, Codex, Gemini CLI and OpenCode. Web applications must be allowed by Phare first, contact support if yours isn’t.
-
Does the MCP server cost extra?
No, it’s included in every plan, the free Hobby plan too. You only need a verified email address and access to at least one project.
-
Can my assistant delete things?
Only what your role allows. Each tool tells the application whether it reads, creates, or changes and deletes data, and most applications ask for your confirmation before changing or deleting anything.
-
Is there a rate limit?
The MCP server accepts 100 requests per minute per organization, shared by all members and separate from the API rate limit. Contact support if you need more.
-
How do I disconnect an application?
Click the trash icon next to it in the connected applications of your user settings. Changing your password or email address, or enabling two-factor authentication, also disconnects all your applications.
