Phare is a European company running on European infrastructure that is managed by European companies, not a US-based megacorp. Your data stays in Europe and is never sold to third parties. The website itself runs zero ad trackers and zero third-party cookies. Your personal data is never sent to a third-party customer management system. The newsletter is opt-in, no dark patterns.

You get direct access to the founder who built the product. Most questions get a same-day answer, and bugs are typically fixed a few hours after they’re reported. If you are looking for formal 24/7 support with an account manager, there’s plenty of other better-suited vendors with a 5-digit price tag.

Phare has been online since September 2022. The revenues, expenses, and growth metrics are publicly disclosed at phare.io/open. It’s fully bootstrapped, independently run, and not funded by venture capital. The goal is to build a product good enough to pay for itself, not to grow fast, extract money from users, and exit.

Phare is a real bootstrapped business registered in Europe, paying taxes in Europe, and deliberately choosing European providers for hosting, infrastructure, and services, that all pay their taxes in Europe. No revenue will be used to lobby your local government into a technocracy or into the development of a bunker complex in Hawaii. When you subscribe, you’re funding the development of the product directly.

If it talks on the internet, Phare can monitor it. You can track availability for HTTP and HTTPS websites, REST and GraphQL APIs, raw TCP ports, and servers with ICMP ping monitoring. Phare also supports custom request headers, user agents, request bodies, status code and response body assertions, and SSL/TLS certificates.

Phare checks your critical endpoints as often as every 30 seconds from global edge regions, ensuring near-instant downtime detection and minimal disruption.

Yes. Phare provides dedicated API monitoring with support for HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and more), custom authentication headers, custom request bodies, response body assertions, and response time thresholds.

Yes. SSL/TLS certificates are automatically discovered and monitored on every check. You will receive proactive alerts before certificates expire or encounter configuration errors.

Yes. Checks are performed from 12 global monitoring regions across Europe, America, Asia, and Oceania, giving you a worldwide view of availability and eliminating single-location false alarms.

Phare uses shared IP addresses rather than dedicated static IPs, but you can securely monitor private or protected infrastructure. Phare implements the Web Bot Auth standard (cryptographic HTTP message signatures) and allows you to append secret verification tokens to your monitor’s User-Agent or custom request headers, allowing your reverse proxies, WAFs, or firewalls to safely authenticate monitoring traffic.
